Get ready to sample mead and beer during the Leaky Roof Meadery’s first May Day celebration.
Katie Rock, event coordinator, said a variety of meaderies and breweries will be represented during the spring festival, which includes a bike show, live music and food concessions.
“What we’ve encountered in the market is when people taste our products, they love them, but a lot of times they have not had mead before. We want to focus on mead education and get people out to the meadery… My husband Todd (head mead maker) at heart is a craft beer enthusiast,” she said.
May Fest is from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, at the Leaky Roof Meadery in Buffalo. Cost is $15 for ages 21 and older; $10 for anyone entering the bike show; ages 20 and younger are free.
All events at The Leaky Roof are family friendly, although there will not be specific activities for the kiddos, she said.
Attendees will be able to sample a variety of meads and craft beers from Missouri and around the country.
