  • We use crowdsourced fruit, flowers and honey as well as locally sourced fresh juice, to produce quality hard cider, honey mead and fruit wines. Yes, we do pick apples, pears, apricots and cherries off of local residents’ fruit trees, with permission. We also harvest dandelions, hops and other flowers in season if they are offered to us. Contact us at urbanforagewinery@gmail.com if you have fruit or flowers you’d like us to pick.

Each of our varieties is made with minimal processing in our stainless steel fermenters in small batches. We do much of the work the old-fashioned way: by hand. There aren’t any shortcuts to take in the making of real cider, mead or wine.

We also strive to make our products without the use of artificial chemicals. We pasteurize our products to make them shelf-stable instead of dosing them with chemical additives. We use low doses of sulfite only when a batch seems to require it, and never use the preservatives that are commonly overused by other wineries and cideries.

We are proud to now have a taproom where we can serve draft cider on tap and wine and mead for sale by the glass. Our taproom is open Thursdays and Fridays from 4-10 PM and Saturdays from Noon to 10.

The products that we have available for sale depend on the time of year and on how fast our limited inventory is selling. Check our products page to see what we currently have in stock.

At the moment, our Semisweet Sparkling Cider, Semisweet Mead and Gin Botanical Cider are for sale at 40 liquor stores in Minneapolis, St. Paul and several of the suburbs. Other seasonal varieties are for sale only at our location at 3016 East Lake Street in Minneapolis on Fridays and Saturdays.
