  • Smoothbeard Sparkling Mead is inspired by the tale of ‘Smoothbeard’, a lovable and adventurous Viking, named after his mass of golden silky facial hair.

Combining his creativity with his love of good times, Smoothbeard was responsible for crafting many a batch of this delicious drink for his clan to enjoy when celebrating their victorious raids.

You can just picture him at the Viking camp, smile on his face, pleased at himself for having finished crafting the perfect batch of his refreshing drink and with enough time to kick back before his fellow Vikings return to celebrate with him after a round of raiding and pillaging!

Over the years since his time, the Smoothbeard surname has evolved into the modern day surname ‘Smibert’ (say it fast enough in a Scottish accent and the likeness can be clearly heard!).

His descendant Angus has been inspired to bring about a modern day Mead Revolution reviving this mystical beverage in his ancestor’s honour.
