Full bodied Melomel (fruit mead) fermented with Tart Montmorency cherries, red wine grapes, and honey. Semi-sweet. 12V.

Local Montmorency tart cherry, Benzie County Pinot Noir, and our wild honey fermented together. Cherry flavor accompanied by complex sweet spice while not being too sweet. Pyments are ancient styles of mead made with grapes and honey.

Pros: nice semi sweet, dark cherry, honey subtle
Cons: little light on the legs, color is more brown than red
Appearance: Good - (clear with characteristic color)
Smell: Good - (characteristic aroma)
Taste: Good - (good balance; smooth; may have minor imperfections)
Aftertaste: Acceptable - (fairly pleasant aftertaste but short)

This is a very nice semi sweet (off-dry) wine. It has the nice cherry flavor of dark sweet cherries. It has the medium body that sits well and the aroma of gentle spices. The hint of honey is subtle. As a hobby beekeeper, I can certainly taste the thistle and tupelo honey used. The blend of honey and the mixture of fruit provide a nice flavor.
