Pros: Excellent dark red color and clarity
Cons: Not as sweet as expected.
Appearance: Excellent - (brilliant with outstanding color)
Smell: Acceptable - (slight aroma, pleasant)
Taste: Acceptable - (undistinguished but pleasant; minor off-flavors)
Aftertaste: Acceptable - (fairly pleasant aftertaste but short)

When I found Sap House Meadery's Ossipioja on the shelf, I was excited.  I've tried a few different pyments, and in my opinion, honey and grapes just seem to go hand-in-hand.

This particular pyment has an excellent, crystal clear, burgundy color and the aroma between opening the bottle for the first time and pouring it into your glass is pleasing to the nose.  You can definitely smell a slight hint of grape without any offensive odors.

The first few sips are pleasing as the hint of grape is definitely there without being strong or over-powering.  It wasn't as sweet as I was hoping it would be, but regardless, I didn't feel I had to work at getting through the glass and looked forward to finishing the bottle.

Overall, I was pleased with this pyment and would definitely recommend it to folks that prefer a well-flavored, mead that isn't overly sweet on the palate.
