Although our Blueberry Mead recipe is very similar to the Traditional the 5% of blueberries added during primary fermentation completely transforms the flavor. Since we do not use any sulfites to stop fermentation, the blueberries ferment out all the way leaving behind no residual sugar, providing this mead with an ultra dry quality while still retaining the refreshing clean finish that always leaves you wanting more. Unlike the Traditional, the Blueberry Mead has an earthy bouquet and flower aromas from the pollen in the honey. We use honey provided by Garey Farms in Paris, Kentucky which varies depending on the blooms in the area. This wine is best chilled as well and goes really well with Brie and fruit and would be perfect for a picnic on a warm, sunny day.
