Cellarmen’s, Hazel Park’s first microbrewery, cidery and meadery announced plans to open this fall with a tasting room and production facility on John R near Woodward Heights.

Co-founders Jason Petrocik and Ian Radogost-Givens say they’ll brew beer for in-house sales, but the plan is for their cider and mead to be canned and distributed, as well as sold at Cellarmen’s. The 12,000 square foot building, which used to be Bolyard Lumber, is at 24310 John R.

Dominic Calzetta, a volunteer employee and brewery veteran, says the choice to put Cellarmen’s in Hazel Park was easy because of the support they received from the city.
