Spring has sprung and we are in the beginning stages of backyard and patio season. Did you know? Chef David Guas, host of the Travel Channels’ American Grilled tv series and owner of Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar and Eatery in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. Yep, the American Grilled show travels across America in search of the boldest grilling competitors via the ultimate, outdoor cooking challenge.

What: It’s a fact that Chef David Guas loves honey in all its forms, if you’ve noticed by his sticky station, and mead is no exception. To reacquaint the public with what was once known as the nectar of the gods, Guas will be hosting a Mead & Greet happy hour on Capitol Hill next to the Hill Center.

Who: Open to the general public especially curious grilled food and mead lovers.

When: Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6p.m. to 8p.m.

Where: Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery ~ 901 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Washington, DC

In collaboration with Charm City Meadworks, chef David Guas will be serving mead-based cocktails at happy hour prices. To sweeten the night, complimentary snacks such as grilled sausage, local cheeses, pork rinds, and grilled veggie toast will be handed out during the entire Mead & Greet from 6 p.m. to 8p.m., only.
