New Day Craft Mead and Cider – as part of its 11th Anniversary expansion plans – has launched distribution in nearly 100 locations throughout in Ohio, in addition to its long-standing statewide presence in Indiana, according to a news release from Cavalier Distributing.

“We’re entering the Ohio markets with our five year-round meads and hard ciders,” confirmed New Day co-owner Tia Agnew, in an email. “The Gold Rush is only available on tap at our Fountain Square tasting room, and not available in distribution.”

The varieties available in Ohio include three craft meads: Washington’s Folly – tart cherry mead; ReThinker – dry hopped blueberry mead; Shelby Blue Ribbon – strawberry rhubarb mead; and two hard ciders: South Cider – hard apple cider with honey; Johnny Chapman – hard apple cider with sorghum.

Agnew is hosting launch events July 18-21 in Dayton, Delaware, Medina and Akron, Ohio.

New Day opened the Fountain Square Tasting Room in 2005 as a front runner in the production of modern craft mead and hard cider in Indiana. Founders/Owners Tia Agnew and Brett Canaday describe their product “as approachable as it is innovative, bold and full of flavor, possessing a balance and complexity created by virtue of using whole fruit, wildflower honey and specialty yeast strains; quality ingredients with no concentrates, purees or natural flavors.”
